Another option on upper trim levels is the 1.4-liter SIDI Turbo engine with Auto Start-Stop technology, which gets 153 horsepower and boosts its city fuel economy numbers to 27 mpg. All of the Buick Encore’s powertrain options are partnered with a six-speed automatic transmission, but drivers also have the choice of FWD or AWD.
