The GMC Canyon comes with three engine options. The base engine, a 2.5-liter I4 DOHC engine, is the only engine available on the SL trim and is the standard option on the Canyon and SLE trims. It puts out 200 horsepower and 191 lb-ft of torque.

The next engine, a 3.6-liter V6 engine with Variable Valve Timing, produces 308 horsepower and 275 lb-ft of torque. It is optional on the Canyon and SLE trims and standard on the Canyon SLT and Denali trims. Finally, the 2.8-liter Duramax diesel engine is available on the top three trims and produces an impressive 369 lb-ft of torque.

The Canyon comes with a wide range of standard features, like GMC IntelliLink Radio with a 7-inch diagonal color touchscreen, as well as Android Auto and Apple CarPlay capability.

Higher trim levels get you even more exciting features like remote keyless entry, an OnStar Basic Plan for 5 years, an upgrade to an 8-inch touchscreen, and remote vehicle start. The Denali trim even comes with active safety features like Forward Collision Alert and Lane Departure Warning.

The Canyon offers exterior features that make accessing cargo in the bed easier, like the CornerStep rear bumper and cargo area lamps. There’s also the standard LED signature projector-type headlamps, EZ-Lift and Lower tailgate, and heated outside mirrors to help your side mirrors stay clear even in the cold. You also don’t want to pass up the trailering package, which is available on the Denali trim and makes towing even easier.
