GMC Sierra AT4X

GMC has just set a new bar for off-roading trucks. This summer, they revealed the 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4X AEV Edition, which takes the Sierra 1500 AT4X — already an off-roading powerhouse — to the next level.

The AEV Edition improves on the base AT4X with a dizzying array of specialized equipment. These include 3-millimeter heavy-duty steel front and rear bumpers, complete with powder coating and winch capability, five ultra high-strength hot-stamped boron steel skid plates, Multimatic™ DSSV dampers, and more. Thanks to all of its upgrades, it boasts measurably better off-road abilities, such as a 27% improvement on the AT4X’s front approach angle.

All of this is powered by a mighty 6.2-liter V8 engine that comes standard, and lets you trailer up to 8,700 pounds. And inside the cabin, you’ll find an upscale interior with full-grain leather seats, authentic wood trim, and a Bose® premium audio system with 12 speakers. You’ll also enjoy virtual miles of screens to keep you up to date on your entertainment and driving information — all totaled, the Sierra 1500 AT4X AEV Edition boasts over 40 inches of them.

With all this and more, the Sierra 1500 AT4X AEV Edition will be the best off-roading factory Sierra 1500 in history. Keep an eye out for more updates, and come see it for yourself here at Junction Buick GMC when it starts hitting lots next year.

GMC Interior

They’re here at last — details of the upcoming redesigned 2023 GMC Canyon came out in early August. The popular midsize truck from GMC has been upgraded with a refreshed design, cutting-edge amenities, and a top-of-the-line off-roading trim. It’s also adding a bold new off-road trim: the 2023 GMC Canyon AT4X.

The redesign of the 2023 GMC Canyon is apparent at once thanks to its eye-catching new exterior, with a factory lift, full LED lighting, and a wider, more aggressive stance. Inside the cabin, the new Canyon offers high-tech features like a best-in-class 11.3-inch-diagonal available digital instrument cluster, HD Surround Vision, and the option for a seven-speaker Bose® audio system.

It also offers technological improvements like segment-first wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, a fully digital driver information center, and available underbody cameras, Google Built-In, and a head-up display.

Another first for the 2023 GMC Canyon is its brand-new AT4X trim. This off-roading specialist features an extra-high factory lift, which gives it 10.7 inches of ground clearance and contributes to its 36.9-degree approach angle. There’s even an AT4X-exclusive driving mode called Baja Mode, designed for high-speed thrills while you’re out on the trail.

With so many new bells and whistles, the new 2023 GMC Canyon will be an experience like no other. Come see it here at Junction Buick GMC when it starts hitting lots in the spring. Or contact us today to make sure you’re one of the first to take one out in Chardon, Ohio.

Top Fishing Spots
Fishing rod on the boat, sunset time. Beautiful autumn colors. A fishing rod is a long, flexible rod used by fishermen to catch fish.

With the warm weather and sunshine, it’s nearly irresistible to get outside and enjoy the Ohio summer. And if you’re into fishing, you’re in luck — there are plenty of great fishing spots around Chardon just waiting for you to cast your reel.

Walter C. Best Wildlife Preserve is a little natural haven right in the middle of Chardon. Only a couple of miles from downtown, about a third of this 101-acre property is taken up by a pleasant lake, preserved to protect native waterfowl. Trails run all the way around it, so you can access the water anywhere you’d like, and fishing is permitted as long as you have a valid Ohio fishing license.

Veterans Park is a bit more of a drive but well worth the trip. It features a trail that loops through native wetlands near Lake Erie and offers four easily accessible fishing piers for your use. The wetlands are home to catfish, bass, bluegill, and rainbow trout. Just be sure to remember their fishing restrictions when you go — currently, you are only allowed five trout per day.

Wherever you go, remember to bring water, sunscreen, and plenty of bait. Here’s hoping you reel in plenty of fish this summer!

Road Trip

You’ve got your road trip stops all planned out, your bags are packed, and you’re ready to go — but what will you eat on the way? Eating out can add up fast, especially with a family, and the easiest options on the road tend not to be particularly healthy.

Luckily, there are myriad healthy snacks that are perfectly suited for road trips. For a bit of protein, bring along some jerky or a bag of nuts. Edamame, or soy beans, makes a great easy snack, too, and you can buy it dried for easier packing. If you add a small cooler to your packing list, things like cheese cubes or hummus and veggies are also great options.

Even if your taste leans towards the sweeter things, there are many foods you can bring with you that will help fill out your nutritional needs. Trail mix is easy to find and very customizable, whether it comes with raisins or chocolates. Or you can bring some dried fruit, which also offers a great variety of choices.

For salty options, bring a bag of popcorn or some pretzels. Crackers are a good idea, especially to go along with the cheese cubes — you can have your own travel charcuterie board!

Whichever you choose, have a safe trip, and enjoy your snacks. If your car needs a tune-up, bring it to Junction Buick GMC in Chardon, Ohio, so we can help you on your way.

Here in Ohio, we have to prepare for just about anything — especially when it comes to the weather. While you might think an emergency kit is only ideal for winter, think again. Here are some essential items to keep in your summer emergency kit.

Jumper cables
Car batteries don’t just stop working in the cold of winter. Extremely hot temperatures, like in summer, can cause harm to your vehicle’s battery as well. Be sure to pack jumper cables in the event that your car doesn’t start on your summer road trips.

Pencil and paper
If you do end up in an accident, you’ll need to collect insurance information from any other drivers that are involved. While your cell phone might be a good way to get these details, you shouldn’t rely on it in case you lose it during the accident or if it loses power. Store a pencil and some paper in the glove box or center console for easy access.

Flashlight
You never know where your summer adventures will take you, and that might mean being out past sunset. In an emergency, having a bright flashlight will definitely come in handy.
